Obsidian is naturally occurring volcanic glass. It forms when lava erupting from a volcano cools rapidly. Obsidian is most famously known historically for being used for blades in sacrificial knives and weapons by civilisations of Mesoamerica.

This piece originated in Mexico, and was carefully selected as part of the crystal collection for Juju due to its form and stature. Due to obsidian being a form of glass parts of this piece are very sharp and care should be taken when handling.
