Our ‘Celestial Ladder’ earrings are inspired by ancient cultures, artefacts dug from the earth and hidden treasures found within tombs that mystify modern man. These amulets that were once worn by people that had a true love, appreciation and knowledge of the night sky. A symbolic ladder from the earth to the heavens, each carries different gemstones in their arches, embodying unique power and meaning.

The unique design of these earrings is meticulously constructed by hand. Each arch is threaded with gold wires and sparkling faceted Lapis Lazuli beads. The handmade 18ct yellow gold beads are scattered amongst the Lapis Lazuli, like bright stars in the night sky. Each earring hook is handmade and carefully shaped to fit perfectly on the ear and every gold tassel that hangs from the base is painstakingly hammered and shaped into a textured drop, created using the same technique as the ancients.

A symbol of the starry night and a stone of truth, Lapis Lazuli has been favoured for thousands of years. In ancient Egypt, Lapis Lazuli was the favourite stone for amulets and ornaments. For the Ancient Egyptians, the stone had religious significance and reflected the high status of their rulers, its deep celestial blue remains a symbol of royalty and honour to this day. Lapis Lazuli is believed to encourage honesty of the spirit and to stimulate the desire for knowledge.
